7 Essentials For Summer '17

1) Slide sandals I love embellishment! Embellishment adds texture and extra dimension to a basic piece and therefore having a slider sandal with embellishment brings the eye down and can really make an outfit POP. It's like red lipstick while wearing basic colors... you can never go wrong and my favorite so far are the sliders from Steve Madden.

2) Vibrant Bold Bag- Same photo for the bold colored bag but summer is not in full effect without a bold bag! Or if you have the money to SPLURGE then everything Gucci this season is AWESOME! For a techie like me I absolutely LOVE the Techpack Brocade backpack. 

3) Satin Floral or Print wide Leg Pants- I have never been one for floral but I must admit my taste have changed. I absolutely love the floral trend IF it's done right. Also I've always loved wide leg pants but the satin sheen adds another dimension to your outfit for summer/spring and it really makes a statement. Check out this look that Jourdan Dunn in her silky wide legged print Coachella outfit. Definitely done right! (BTW... notice the furry sliders. Weren't we just discussing slider sandals??? OK noted)

4) Floral Summer dresses - Again anything floral will be a hit. Not the bold unbearable floral that you would find in a old fabric store. I'm talking about the small cute pastel colored prints. Accompanied by cute layered jewelry and a wedge sandal, you can't go wrong. 

5) Accessories -  Pom pom jewelry is HUGE this season. You'll see pom pom's on everything from shoes to earrings but I love to make a statement with textures and fabric, however I like to keep my jewelry classic. Add a few bangles and a nice dangled earring and you're golden. My favorite for a quick cute piece is Bauble Bar. I love their ear crawlers and they tend to have GREAT sales and freebies when you purchase directly from their site. 

You can't neglect where you lay your head. It's your sanctuary and I recently went into overdrive mode fixing up my patio with anticipation for the nice days. I can't wait to open up my pool and lay out. There are a few essentials that will not break the bank but will definitely add that wow factor ensuring that once the margarita's are flowing, the crew will be in relax mode for hours in your inviting space. 

6) Do yourself a favor and invest in beautiful outdoor plants and outside accessories as they can serve multiple functions. One they add beauty to your space and they can serve as food or protection against bugs as well. Lemongrass falls into this category. 
They're perfect to keep the mosquitoes away  and they look spectacular and require very little maintenance. Citronella candles are made  is made from the oil produced from these plants so add some lemongrass to your patio near outdoor furniture. 

7) Keeping with the outdoor theme lets discuss outdoor rugs. Most are familiar with the harsh straw feeling rugs for outdoors or the artificial grass but these rugs have really come along way and they can really add a WOW factor to your outdoor space. The patterns and textures are beautiful and can withstand the natural elements.
